Responding to the Refugee Crisis

Responding to the Refugee Crisis has been important work at BSPC. We first responded by providing the opportunity to sign letters to Congress, by offering educational opportunities to learn more, by taking an impactful photo saying, “We Choose Welcome.” Now the Global & National Ministries Committee (GNMC) is gathering Broadstreeters who feel called to act.

BSA's "Chopped" Cooking Competition Mon., May 23

May 17, 2016
Broad Street Afterschool students will be chopping, whisking, stirring, and mixingas teams compete in the 2016 Chopped Competition. Teams will compete against each other to see who can create the most original, unique, and tasty dishes from a surprise basket of ingredients, "Chopped" style!

What's New at Broad Street Afterschool Program

May 16, 2016
Broad Street Afterschool's Summer Program will run from  Monday, June 13 through Friday, August 12. Program hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Summer Program serves children who have completed Kindergarten (age 5 minimum) up to age 13. Pre-enrollment registration is now open to families living in Central Ohio.

New Food Pantry Partnership with CELC

May 16, 2016
Food security is a real challenge for the families with children enrolled at Columbus Early Learning Centers (CELC), here in our building. All of the parents are employed, but many still face financial challenges. The Broad Street Food Pantry begin partnering with CELC in April to help their families. Once a month, all CELC families will be able to shop the Pantry on a Thursday evening since our daytime hours don't work for working families. The group Columbus Gives Back provides volunteers to help on those evenings, volunteers who are excited about the opportunity to help families in need.
