EAI will host an exhibit opening reception that includes a panel discussion with local DACA recipients and moderator Derick DeHart, DACA Time COO. Join us for a thought-provoking and informative talk.
The exhibit of photo portraits of local Dreamers will be on display from June 21 through August 17 in Palmer Hall.
In 2012, the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program was formed through an executive order by President Obama. This immigration policy allowed undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors to be protected from immediate deportation and to receive work authorization. DACA recipients, known as Dreamers, could request “consideration of deferred action” for a period of two years, which was subject to renewal.
