2018 Annual Campaign

We learn and grow from the quality, depth, and clarity of our educational ministry with adults.

Large and small groups classes gather for an hour at 9:45 (11:15 in the summer).

This winter we continue our conversation about race and privilege.  As 2014 ended we focused our attention on what happened in Ferguson and Cleveland and Staten Island and throughout the country, as youth and adults watched Verna Myers’ TED talk and discussed our experiences.  On January 11 and 18 we will continue the conversation.  What might it mean to look at our own complicity in structures of inequality?  We will dig deeper into the three suggestions Verna Myers makes:  1.  Get out of denial, 2.  Move towards discomfort, 3.  Have the courage to speak up.

During Lent (February 22-March 29)  we will focus on Tough Topics, and later this spring the Social Justice Team will challenge us on issues regarding Domestic Violence.

No classes are boring.  All enrich.  Some really challenge.  Together we seek and find, asking hard questions and being honest about our lives.

Sunday school for children and youth

In addition, Amy Miracle leads a weekly class with the focus on the text or texts that will be preached on in future Sundays. This discussion oriented class meets every week on Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:25 a.m. at the church.  Each study stands alone so new faces are always welcome. Coffee provided!  Please RSVP to Amy.
