Who we are

Established in 1982, COMPASS (Congregational Outreach Ministries Program of Assistance & Social Service) is a collaboration involving numerous area churches and other community groups. Our goal is to provide a “hand-up” to those in need.

Our Vision

Our vision is to share self-sufficiency skills and provide emergency assistance to individuals willing to invest in themselves. COMPASS provides services to prevent homelessness and stall evictions, allowing families to remain in their homes. We also refers individuals and families to other agencies within the community.

COMPASS does not provide assistance for utility bills in default with the gas or electric company. Be sure to read these qualifications prior to calling or coming to the office for service. Please note there is no guarantee of assistance.

COMPASS also provides Benefit Bank counseling from Franklin County.  This process includes: ODJFS Application, and Food Stamp Registration.

COMPASS is a site for Neighbor to Neighbor applications for AEP customers only.  To see if you are eligible to apply, click here.
