Mission trips change lives. We go in partnership and serve alongside our mission partners as they lead the way for us to learn and serve. Mission trips are a powerful part of our connection to others in the U.S. and around the world.
COVID-19 Update on Travel: Until it is more clear about when we can safely travel and stay in group lodging, we have postponed planning any mission trips. Since 2021 is still so unclear, after consulting with Jed Koball, we hope to be able to travel back to Peru in June of 2022. Since we were unable to travel in the summer of 2020, we had a Mission Un-Trip, which included a variety of Zoom experiences and in-person opportunities at our Food Pantry following best CDC guidelines. We are focused on serving alongside the most marginalized, particularly in this moment. We don’t have to travel to experience the life-changing power of helping others and walking alongside people.
Past Mission Trips
Mission & Massanetta
For the last six summers, BSPC middle school youth and adult leaders have traveled to Harrisonburg, Virginia for a week of mission work and a middle school youth conference. Massanetta Springs Conference Center is a PC (USA) conference center that brings youth together to serve, grow, and play each summer.
High School Youth and Adults
Over the years, high school youth and adults have traveled to Washington D.C., Chicago, Appalachian Kentucky, and Pittsburgh for service learning. We experience God in homeless shelters, summer camps, food banks, and on street corners. This is a chance for us to live simply and work towards justice in this world. These trips are both fun and transformative.
Every few years, high school youth and adults travel to Peru to serve and learn alongside our PC (USA) Mission Co-Workers Jed and Jenny Koball. Our church has been traveling to Peru in partnership since 2000, a 20-year partnership, to learn about justice issues facing our world and how we can be part of the work and advocacy to change and better the world.
