Twenty-five years after September 11, Christopher Carver reflects on his experience working in the New York City Fire Department’s dispatch center that day and in the days that followed.
He will share memories that have stayed with him, how the experience shaped his life and faith, and what he hopes future generations will remember.

Mindful: The Art of Observation explores what it means to truly notice, encouraging us to experience the world, and perhaps one another, with greater awareness. Come to the opening reception, slow down, look closer, and discover what you notice.

Thanks to your help we’ve donated over 211 lbs of fresh produce to the food pantry this summer!
We have more tomatoes and collards to pick, so please join us! It may also be time to chop our bean stalks and save the seeds for next season. Bring your water and elbow grease as we continue growing healthy food for the pantry! 🌻

Parables Through a Lens of Justice ⚖️

Story is powerful, building bridges and sparking empathy. And, story is the medium through which Jesus taught his followers about justice and the kingdom of God. Join us as we learn how to read the parables of Jesus through the lens of justice.
The class will be led by Brooke Jackson, a career public defender who teaches on the intersection of faith and justice, and a Near East Side neighbor, along with her family.
Gather Around the Red Tent ⛺

Come join the men and women of the Red Tent Society! They package feminine hygiene products to distribute through the BSPC Food Pantry.
Enjoy a meal, form friendships, and provide essential resources for our community. We meet every third Sunday. Come on August, at 11:45 am to the church’s Courtyard landing area.
Unity Sunday: Lessons from Peru 🌄

On Unity Sunday, worship will be shaped by experiences from our Peru Solidarity Trip.
Through stories, reflections, music, and prayer, members of the group will share the Peru experience and what they learned from our Peruvian partners about faith, justice, and our connection across cultures. Please note: There will be no 8:30 a.m. worship service that morning.
