Food Pantry Assistant (Part-Time)

Job Title: Food Pantry Assistant
Status: Part Time; 20 hours per week
Reports To: Food Pantry Director

SUMMARY:  The Food Pantry Assistant will assist with day-to-day operations .
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  1. Assist with set up and clean up, stocking shelves
  2. Rotate stock as needed for food safety/quality control
  3. Pre-pack boxes for caseworkers
  4. Help prep for special projects
  5. As needed, fill orders for neighbors and deliver to their vehicle
  6. As needed, assist with intake
  7. Re-pack diapers, feminine hygiene, other products as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Food safety and other training completed as required
  • Complete Civil Rights Training provided by MOFC annually

Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service, communication and people skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Able to be on your feet consistently for 4 hours
  • Able to bend and move about independently without restrictions
SCHEDULE: Weekday mornings; 7:30 am – 11:30 am; occasional special events
COMPENSATION:

Hourly rate plus paid time off per BSPC Personnel policy, applicable insurance benefits.
Salary range: $15- $18 per hour starting
