Youth

Broad Street Presbyterian Church’s youth ministry is a welcoming space where young people can be fully themselves, feel heard and supported, and build friendships with peers and caring adults. Through conversation, service, shared adventures, leadership, and plenty of fun, youth are empowered to explore their faith and discover the many ways they can be part of the church—both within and beyond its walls.

Youth Group meets seasonally after worship for lunch and conversation. However, the most formative experiences are our overnights at local retreats, longer trips to camps like Massanetta and Montreat, and even further trips to visit our global mission partners in Peru and Mexico.

Confirmation is a special time set apart for 7th and 8th graders to dive deeper into what their faith means to them and reflect on their beliefs and the beliefs of the Christian faith.

Broad Street Presbyterian Church is committed to being inclusive and welcoming to all youth, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.

The children and youth committee wrote and approved a Gender Inclusion Statement for Children & Youth Ministry, and it was approved by the Session in 2025. It states, “At Broad Street Presbyterian Church, we believe every young person is a beloved child of God. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment where all children and youth of every gender identity and expression are fully included in the life of our church. … We recognize that gender is more complex than what can be seen or assumed.
