Youth at BSPC
Broad Street Presbyterian Church’s youth ministry is a welcoming space where young people can be fully themselves, feel heard and supported, and build friendships with peers and caring adults. Through conversation, service, shared adventures, leadership, and plenty of fun, youth are empowered to explore their faith and discover the many ways they can be part of the church—both within and beyond its walls.
Youth Group meets seasonally after worship for lunch and conversation. However, the most formative experiences are our overnights at local retreats, longer trips to camps like Massanetta and Montreat, and even further trips to visit our global mission partners in Peru and Mexico.
Confirmation is a special time set apart for 7th and 8th graders to dive deeper into what their faith means to them and reflect on their beliefs and the beliefs of the Christian faith.
Broad Street Presbyterian Church is committed to being inclusive and welcoming to all youth, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.
The children and youth committee wrote and approved a Gender Inclusion Statement for Children & Youth Ministry, and it was approved by the Session in 2025. It states, “At Broad Street Presbyterian Church, we believe every young person is a beloved child of God. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment where all children and youth of every gender identity and expression are fully included in the life of our church. … We recognize that gender is more complex than what can be seen or assumed. As followers of Jesus, who welcomed and affirmed those often excluded, we seek to reflect that same hospitality in our programs, policies, and practices.” Click here for the full statement and best practices we are committed to.

Summer ’27 | Youth Trips | Save the Dates
🌲 Massanetta Middle School Youth Conference
June 24–27, 2027
For rising 6th graders through completing 8th grade
Our middle school group had an incredible time at Massanetta this summer, and they’re already excited to head back. (Especially since a thunderstorm canceled the famous slip n’ slide for many—we’re definitely due for a redo!)
One parent perfectly captured the spirit of the trip when we pulled back into the church parking lot:
“You all looked buzzed on sugar, slightly feral, and completely joyful. Total win.”
Honestly, I couldn’t have said it better. Along the way, our youth built friendships, laughed a lot, and explored what it means to be peacemakers and followers of Christ.
Registration opens in January 2027.

⛰️ Montreat Youth Conference
July 11–17, 2027
For high school youth
Montreat is a favorite of our youth! Along with hundreds of other Presbyterian youth from across the country, we worship together, hear inspiring speakers, hike, explore, rock hop in the creek, relax in rocking chairs overlooking the mountains, and grow in faith together.
One of our youth shared this reflection after returning home:
“I love it at Montreat. I feel more connected with God there. The connection between people and the love of God is so inspiring. You meet people who are completely different from you, and being out in the mountains leaves you feeling refreshed. Getting up to run in the morning especially made me feel more connected to God through nature.”
If you’ve never experienced Montreat, we hope you’ll consider joining us next summer.
Registration will open this fall.
