Broad Street Presbyterian Church offers a fun and meaningful children’s ministry to nurture the spiritual lives of children and their families from infancy into elementary school. Our children’s ministry’s goal is to be inclusive and supportive, offering various opportunities for children to learn about faith, serve others, and build lasting friendships within the church community. Whether through weekly worship or special events, Broad Street Presbyterian Church aims to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for all children
A common question we get, is there are church nursery? – No, we have made it a priority to allow families the space to worship together by adding a family worship space and making worship more accessible to children and families. Giggles and wiggles are welcome!
Another common question is, is there Sunday School? No, not in the way you might remember. Instead, we have reimagined how kids grow in their faith and practice faith. Each month, there are will be opportunities for your children to volunteer, play, and explore the Bible either during or after church, online, and at home.

Beyond Godly Play
Godly Play is a Montessori-based Christian formation curriculum that uses storytelling, wondering, and hands-on materials to help children explore the Bible. We use this in worship once a month and then invite children who choose to, to sneak out of worship to go upstairs to explore the story further with art, games, and more! Join us Sundays this fall during the 10:30 a.m. worship service:

Club 234 – Club 234 is a monthly service club for kids in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Events and Milestones
School’s out, Pantry’s open! 🛒
Tuesday, November 4 | 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
*Program for Elementary School Ages*
If your school is out for Election Day and you’re looking for something for your kids to do, sign up for our half-day program to volunteer in the Food Pantry, followed by group games and lunch.
This is a fun way for our church’s kids to play together, and serve together, and hopefully, it’s a little childcare help for parents!
We will order pizza, wear closed-toed shoes and pants, and dress for the weather for outdoor fun. This program has no cost. It will be limited to 10 participants. Sign Up online by October 29 – registration ends when we reach capacity.
Bedtime Faith Milestone
Sundays: November 2 & 9 | 9:30 – 10:15 a.m.
*Exclusively for 3 and 4 year olds*
Throughout our lives, we mark milestones here at church. Baptism is often one of the first, but another sweet one early in life is our Bedtime Faith Milestone for our 3 and 4 year olds!
These fun, interactive workshops focus on receiving a storybook Bible and creative ways to pray. We ask that one parent or grandparent be there, per child. We will mark this milestone in worship on November 9 as well, so plan to attend either the 8:30 or 10:30 worship services.
Is it Halloween or Christmas?
Who cares, it’s Christmas Pageant time!
We’re excited to once again create our Video Christmas Play! Children are invited to dress up, record their lines, and add their best acting flair, right from the comfort of home (or the backyard) with parents and grandparents as directors.
Tell us about your children and the types of roles they’d enjoy, and we’ll write the script to include them! Under 5’s are often happiest as barnyard animals—we have cow and sheep costumes to share (or make your own!) and they can simply moo and baa!
4th and 5th graders usually love being narrators and are encouraged to wear funny Christmas sweaters or fancy clothes. Everyone in between can shine as angels, shepherds, wise ones, and more! This is their production, so help us shape it using the sign-up button below.
Sign up by November 9; parts will be assigned a few days later.
Videos are due Sunday, November 30 (the Sunday after Thanksgiving) and please include the outtakes! This will give us enough time to do the video editing for the premier on Sunday, December 21.
