At Broad Street Presbyterian Church, we find strength, comfort, and community—especially during uncertain times. Whether it’s a sermon that resonates, a prayer that opens our hearts, or an act of service that deepens our purpose, this community helps us grow in faith. As we prepare for 2025, we invite you to reflect on your faith and the role Broad Street plays in your life.
Our annual campaign is about ensuring a vibrant future. In 2025, we have exciting plans: a spring break service trip to Appalachia, discussions on Israel/Palestine, visitor-friendly improvements to the church, and new Montessori-based Bible stories for children. However, inflation has put financial pressure on our budget. We’re working hard to cut expenses, but we’re also asking for a 5% increase in giving to avoid a deficit.
Faith in Action: Ellie Carter’s Story
Ellie Carter spoke in worship last Sunday and shared how her faith journey is deeply rooted in the community she’s found at Broad Street. From childhood memories of her church’s Christmas festival to decorating cupcakes with her daughters for the Thanksgiving Meals at the Food Pantry, Ellie has experienced faith in action.
Broad Street is where my family connects through service. It’s a place where we feel welcomed and part of something bigger.
Ellie’s reflection is a reminder that our church is more than a building—it’s a community where we come together to show God’s love in meaningful ways.
Looking Ahead: Jim Curphey’s Invitation
Next Sunday, Jim Curphey will speak more about the importance of stewardship and what it means to support our church through uncertain times out there in the world. Without giving too much away, Jim will remind us of one simple truth: while we can’t predict the future, we know that Broad Street will always be a place of faith, stability, and belonging.
As we approach 2025, we ask you to reflect on your blessings, your faith, and how this church community has supported you. Consider a meaningful increase in your pledge so that we can continue to thrive together in faith.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
